We didn't realise how short this dress was going to look on Tasha, she is very tall though so it won't look as short on most other people!!!
The dress is quite cute and I like how exaggerated the skirt is. I teamed it with the leather jacket to give it a bit more of a rock, harsh edge and to tone down the girliness a bit! But you could go either way with a dress like this. Go all out girly, curly hair, nude heels, pretty cropped blazer or cardigan and a pendant. I chose to combine the soft dress with the harsher leather jacket and I think it works really well. I particularly like how well it goes with the jacket done up, looks like the two pieces were designed to go together!

Leather trousers are really popular tight now and this pair from H&M are great, very flattering and comfortable, as well as affordable!! The loose top gives it a relaxed look and the jacket complements the whole outfit perfectly. I am a huge fan of this jacket, its flatteringly androgynous and the shape looks great. I want the lot!!

I love this jumpsuit but Tasha wasn't a fan. Having said that, it looks really nice on her

For the record, Tasha is a size 10 and 5 ft 10 just so you can visualise :-)

High Street Styling

As promised, I have visited my local shopping centre and undertaken some changing room photoshoots with my little sister Tasha as my lovely model!!
I went to Topshop, H&M, Miss Selfridge and Primark, and I will post images from each store each day, starting with H&M today :-)
I hope you like the pieces I have chosen, we had a lot of fun and I will be doing more stores soon!!

I am useless!!!

Ok, I have been awful recently. I haven't been on here in weeks and I am very sorry.
I've just started a new job and been settling in but I am back now and ready to get going!! I dragged my poor little sister into town to style her up in some changing room photoshoots and these images will be going up tomorrow!! They will then be followed by some more styling adive so please keep checking back here and I promise to make it bigger and better since I've been so useless!! x

Since people can't yet write to me on here unless they comment on my posts I'm posting this purely for those who want to ask me some styling questions!! So if you are after some advice please comment on here and I will make sure your question gets answered!

Styling Advice round 2 :-)

So my second bit of styling advice is for Becki. She has bought a dress and wants to know what kind of accessories to put with it.

To start here is the dress:

Firstly, I think the colour is really lovely and strong so it can take strong colours being paired with it, but Becki has informed me she is wearing nude shoes/bag with it which I think is a really good choice. She also mentioned she is wearing her hair in a messy bun with I think will work really well with the dress so taking all this on board I think the best options would be big, dangly earrings or a bold statement necklace.

Earrings will work well with an up do as they will be showed off with no hair covering them up but as the dress has a relatively high neck it would provide the perfect background for a statement necklace. Styling Advice

While I will continue to write about pretty things I come across and anything else that pops into my head I am also going to start focusing more on styling on my blog. More store styling, street looks, styling for events and also styling advice.
I am not going to sit on a throne telling people how they must dress but I will offer advice if people would like it on any area; clothing, colour, style, hair, makeup, accessorising and so on.

This idea was confirmed for me when a friend asked me today for some advice on what she could wear with a new skirt she had just bought and it made me think, while people are more than capable of dressing themselves sometimes it's nice to have someone else to look at it from a different perspective and offer up  fresh ideas and that is what I would like to do! So any advice please ask me! :-)

Ok so i'm having a bit of an ethereal moment but I like this!!!

Came across this on the Daily Mail website and I am cursing my terrible choice of lottery numbers I need this collection!
Elie Saab totally knows how to dress women and what a woman wants to wear and this collection is it. Nothing is more feminine than flowing silk and chiffon, intricate beading and gorgeous detailing; the collection screams Hollywood red carpet glamour. The colours are beautiful and basically I am in love. That is all. Just look at the pictures, much better than listening to me harping on...

OH MY GOD DISNEY PRINCESS WEDDING DRESSES!!!

Yes you read that right....Disney and bridalwear designer Alfred Angelo have teamed up to create a collection of wedding dresses inspired by the Disney princesses including Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Jasmine and  Sleeping Beauty's Aurora.

In keeping with the tradition of every woman wanting to feel like a princess on her wedding day now they really can feel like their favourite disney princess. Each dress reflects a different princess but what's nice is that they don't look like frilly, over the top fancy dress costumes, they do just look like pretty wedding dresses. They capture the beauty and magic of Disney while still looking like every brides dream. Never thought I would see myself wanting a Disney inspired dress but I would happily wear one! Beauty and the Beast is my favourite :-)

Emma Watson - Superstar

I really like Emma Watson. Initially because I love Harry Potter but I love how much she has blossomed as she's grown up. I know a lot of people think shes overrated and I'll admit there are a lot better actresses out there but I do think she's one of those rare few who you actually have respect for. She is one of the classiest young women in the spotlight right now (take note, Lohan) she has quietly built up her success, and her millions, without feeling the need to go off the rails or start attention seeking to gain more notoriety and I really do respect her for that. Coming across this photoshoot I couldn't help but look, she looks beautiful and I LOVE the pictures, would love to work on a shoot like this one day. Thought i'd post them because they are so lovely and right up my street!!
Miss Watson, long may your success continue and I can genuinely say I feel shes deserves everything good that comes her way!

Louboutin presents the 8-inch heels.....

WOW. I want a pair of these to frame on my bedroom wall!

Louboutin has created a pair of 8-inch, Swarovski enscrusted heels based on the ballet shoe that will be auctioned off to raise money for the English National Ballet. I think this is a great cause, Ballet was a huge part of my life growing up and I will always love it and it's great to see designers turning out to help keep Ballet alive. It's such a wonderful skill to learn and it's something every little girl needs to try at least once! I think it's great he's kept to the theme and taken his inspiration from the ballet shoe and love how they used dancers as models, so much more graceful!

There are other unique items that have also been donated  by designers including Erdem, Giles Deacon, Moschino, Roksanda Ilincic and Julien Macdonald so take a look!

Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button turn their hand to...styling?!?

Bet you never thought you'd see a statement like that in your lifetime! It is, however, not a joke. The two racing drivers did indeed get together to style, direct and photograph an eccentric summer shoot! And I have to say, they're not half bad!
Guided by Parisian stylist and model, Valentine Fillol-Cordier and with models Charlotte W and Eve Delf who have collaborated with the likes of Burberry and Prada, as well as renowned photographer Mario Testino, the boys pulled of an impressive shoot with props ranging from bird cages and picnic tables to a life size model horse.
The shoot was part of the Vodafone VIP's online film series, the title sponsors of McLaren, previous films have seen drivers pitching tents at festivals and assembling their own F1 cars. I think this is great though and looks like good fun. Maybe I should stop trying to get work with fashion magazines and try collaboration with F1 drivers instead!

I loved the Miss Selfridge boater hat SO much I have just purchased it...reduced to £7 in the sale yessss!!
I am not the most 'hat' person, really don't suit many styles except the floppy 70's style which I don't really think is festival attire so fingers crossed Miss Selfridge comes through for me!
I shall let you know whether I look ridiculous or not! And no, I will not be putting pictures up if I do look ridiculous, only good ones :-)
